Kingdom Maths: God's Great Plan For Increase

Join us for Kingdom Mathematics with Ps Thomas Wright at Cairns Family Church. In this sermon, Ps Thomas will use the analogy of mathematics to show how different people and approaches effect the church in God's plan to grow it. Key Points Covered: ➕ Addition: Each of us is called to add our unique gifts to God's kingdom, contributing to the growth of the church. ➗ Division: We need to recognise the enemy's tactics to divide and destroy the church, resist division and be unified in purpose. ➖ Subtraction: There will always be subtractors about us in our faith journey, sometimes us, and it's right and just to uphold unity and love. ✖️ Multiplication: God's ultimate plan for His people to multiply, discipling others and spreading His Word across all nations (Genesis 1:28; Matthew 28:19-20). Scriptures: 📖 1 PETER 4:10-11 ESV 📖 PSALM 139:13-18 NLT 📖 EPHESIANS 1:4 NLT 📖 GALATIANS 5:13-18 ESV 📖 JOHN 10:10 ESV 📖 JOHN 8:44b NLT 📖 PSALM 133:1,3 ESV 📖 1 CORINTHIANS 1:10 ESV 📖 TITUS 3:9-11 ESV 📖 ROMANS 16:17-20 ESV 📖 EPHESIANS 4:1-6 📖 JAMES 1:19-20 ESV 📖 PROVERBS 11:17 ESV 📖 GENESIS 1:28 ESV 📖 MATTHEW 28:19-20 ESV 📖 2 TIMOTHY 2:1-2 📖 PROVERBS 11:24 ESV 📖 LUKE 6:38 ESV Practical Takeaways: Add Your Part: Serve where you’re gifted, whether it’s speaking, encouraging, helping, or giving. By adding your unique gifts, you contribute to God’s great work. Resist Division: Commit to unity in the body of Christ. Avoiding gossip, controversy, and offense protects the church from division and strengthens our mission. Embrace Multiplication: Invest in others, mentor new believers, and practice radical generosity. God’s Kingdom grows when we pour out what we’ve received. Reflection Questions: How can I add my unique gifts to God's Kingdom this year? In what areas of my life do I need to foster unity instead of division? Who can I invest in or disciple, helping them grow in faith? #CairnsFamilyChurch #KingdomMaths #MultiplyForTheKingdom #FaithInAction #UnityInChrist #RadicalGenerosity

Exposing the Hidden: Finding the Sweet Spot with God - Pr David Wright

This sermon addresses an uncomfortable yet critical issue: hidden sin. Ps. David compares hidden sin to mold, thriving in darkness and dampness, but killed by exposure to sunlight. Main Points: 💧 The Nature of Hidden Sin: Hidden sin, like mold, affects every aspect of a person’s life. Examples include pornography, fantasies, sexual behaviour outside of marriage, closet drinking, resentment, unforgiveness, and dishonesty. Hidden sins lead to spiritual blockage and hinders blessings. 📖 Exposure and Confession: Bringing sin into the light of God’s presence is crucial. Confession to God and, when necessary, to others brings mercy and forgiveness. The Word of God helps in recognising and dealing with hidden sins. 💡 Living in the Light: Importance of living as children of light and exposing deeds of darkness. Avoiding the deception of thinking sins can be hidden from God. Encouragement to seek holiness and live at peace with everyone. 🫚 Consequences of Hidden Sin: Hidden sins can result in personal struggles and spiritual hindrance. Unresolved issues like resentment and unforgiveness can lead to bitterness and defilement. 🍯 Finding the Sweet Spot with God: Emphasises the need for an open and honest relationship with God. Encourages believers to confess sins and seek God’s help in overcoming weaknesses. Living in transparency before God and others leads to spiritual freedom and joy. Key Scriptures: 📖 Psalm 66:18 📖 Proverbs 28:13-14 📖 Psalm 19:11-13 📖 Ephesians 5:8-12 📖 Hebrews 12:14-15 📖 1 John 1:6-10 Reflection and Application: Reflect on any hidden sins in your life and consider how they may be affecting your relationship with God and others. Take steps to confess and expose these sins to God, and seek accountability from trusted individuals if necessary. Commit to living in the light, relying on the Word of God to guide and convict you towards holiness. #Sermon #PastorDavid #HiddenSin #Faith #Christianity
